Veteran Talent Career Planning Conference offered free to all veterans. This Veterans Conference, jointly sponsored by UC Irvine, several veteran focused community organizations, and others will offer concurrent session programming designed to provide veteran’s an understanding of the difference between military and civilian industry cultures and assistance in translating one’s military training and experience into professional, trade or service industry skills needed in non-military fields.  A special Professional Coaching track will be offered throughout the program: One-on-One Informal Advising from various employment and related experts will be available all day except during the breakfast and lunch general sessions.

The program will feature company, education and apprenticeship program representatives, and employment specialists providing practical advice and tips on refining resumes and interview skills, and building a civilian career path. Veterans who attend will also gain an understanding of how to manage supervisory relationships in a non-military industry, employee rights and the professional benefits of various education opportunities. This event will be held two months prior to the UCI Spring Career Fair and networking breakfast that all workshop veterans will be encouraged to attend.
